The E-2 visa lets entrepreneurs from Canada, the UK, and about 75 other treaty countries qualify by making a substantial U.S. investment, owning at least 50% of the business, and hiring Americans. Citizens of India, China, and Russia are ineligible unless they hold dual citizenship with a treaty country.

The E-2 Visa as an Escape from Socialism

The E-2 visa is your escape from socialism. Or at least it might be.

3 Requirements to Get an E-2 Visa

Here are 3 requirements to get yours:

  • Make a “substantial investment”—typically at least $100,000—into a U.S. startup, franchise, or acquired business;
  • Own at least 50% of it; and
  • Hire Americans.

That’s it.

Freedom isn’t free.

Who Qualifies

But for entrepreneurs from Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and about 75 other countries who love America and want to make it even greater than it already is, it’s available.

Citizens of India, China and Russia are ineligible for an E2 visa, by the way, unless they have dual citizenship in an E-2 treaty country.

A Note on Ideology

Lastly, if you voted for socialism or liberalism abroad, please stay there and suffer the inevitable consequences. Don’t bring your bad ideas and ideology here. We’re not interested.
